I wrote this birthday song for my husband Gregg’s birthday. He had just finished grad school, and I was just starting grad school, so we were low on cash. And I wanted to give him something special, so I wrote this for his birthday to help him celebrate.

Two of my super-talented songwriter friends, Brandon Schott and Steven Wilson, heard me play my original Happy Birthday at a show. They urged me to record it and offered to add background vocals and harmonies and other instrumental “ear candy” to the track. All three of us are huge fans of the Beatles, and when they described what they wanted to do as “Beatlesy,” I was all in. I love how it turned out. The energy of this track and the layers of instruments Brandon added along with the harmony and background vocal parts he and Steven added to the track make it super fun.
